Feed in Tariff
If you have a solar energy system you will receive payment from your energy supplier (EON, EDF, British Gas etc) at a set rate for each unit of electricity generated by your system.
For PV systems added to existing properties your energy supplier will pay you a set rate of 21p for each unit (or kWh) of electricity you generate (Generation Tariff). This is guaranteed for 25 years, the income is tax free, and the rates are index-linked for inflation.
You can sell any surplus electricity you generate but don’t use back to your energy supplier at a rate of 3.1p/kWh (Export Tariff), also index-linked.
Our solar PV systems are available in a range of sizes from 1kW to 4kW, and the size fitted will depend on the size of your roof. The best yield is generated on a southerly facing roof, with an approximate 10% reduction for east or west facing roofs. We do not recommend fitting PV systems on north facing roofs.
